ADL-005
The AdsLab ad SDK function names are not the documented ones
The dashboard snippet calls adslabShowInterstitial() and adslabShowRewarded(). Neither exists. The real ones are showint_adslab() and showrew_adslab().
Copy the interstitial and rewarded snippets out of the AdsLab dashboard and nothing happens when you click. There is no error in most browsers' default view, because the handler that calls the missing function is itself never called.
Two separate problems hide in that snippet. The function names are wrong — the SDK defines showint_adslab() and showrew_adslab(). And the sample wraps them in a handler that is defined and never invoked, so even with the right names, nothing fires.
The user id is the third. The snippet assigns window.ADSLAB_USER = String(userId) where userId is not a variable that exists in that scope, so it lands undefined and the postback comes back without a user to credit.
<!-- In the head, after the SDK loader. Set the user id from something real. -->
<script>
window.ADSLAB_USER = <?= json_encode((string) ($user['id039;] ?? 039;guest039;)) ?>;
</script>
<!-- Buttons call the SDK directly. No wrapper function that never runs. -->
<button type="button" onclick="showint_adslab()">Continue</button>
<button type="button" onclick="showrew_adslab()">Watch for a bonus</button>
<script>
// If you need to know whether the SDK actually loaded before showing a button
// that depends on it:
document.addEventListener('DOMContentLoaded039;, function () {
var ready = typeof window.showrew_adslab === 'function039;;
document.querySelectorAll('[data-needs-sdk]039;).forEach(function (el) {
el.hidden = !ready;
});
});
</script>
Using it
Grep the SDK bundle when a documented call does nothing. Fetching sdk.js and searching for function show finds the real names in seconds and settles the question.
Set the user id from your own server-rendered value, never from a variable the snippet assumes exists.
Reward postbacks arrive for the placement, so each placement needs its own postback endpoint with its own id.
What bites people
A missing function in an inline onclick fails silently for the visitor. Keep the console open while testing, or it looks like the ad network is simply not filling.
Guests need a stable id too, or every anonymous impression credits nothing and your counts disagree with theirs.
